Some of the memorable experiences of WOF 11, path of spiritual journey, thoughtful words of elders and benefits of walk, and serenity of nature...
Vardhan says...
1. My objective of taking part in WOF 11 is to meet with various people of the group, strangers on the way and more importantly, enjoy the serenity of nature, especially the landscape of South Canara. I get an opportunity to witness this wonderful nature all alone for almost 7 hours a day in the midst of varied climatic conditions. Walking in the midst of deep wood, by the side of the Ocean, long roads provide you a glimpse of mighty mother Nature. At one point in time, it's like a walking meditation in which you experience "no thought state" for fraction of a second
2. It's kind of testiment for you to know the ability of your body and mind. During this WOF, my confidence gets reinforced. You get a direction in terms of how to rejuvenate your body and mind as we complete this stretch of 5 days of walk.
3. You get to meet various people across the society. During this WOF we had a great opportunity to visit some of the renounced spiritual centres of South Canara. Visit to these places help us in our path of spiritual journey.
4. This WOF gives me a platform to approach my known circle to mobilize donations for the noble cause. It's a feel good attitude when you get lot of appreciation from your kith and kins upon successful completion of the walk. This reinforce your commitment and dedication in supporting this mandate of AFT trust
Comments from Shankar Rao...
Summary of my experience of the Walk of Faith 11.
Iam really thankful to the AIFT team to allow me to be a part of this amazing experience. While my initial reason for me was to test my physical endurance, this walk has been quite enriching on multiple levels.
While I was able to practice for the walk and prepare myself for this challenging physical endeavour, I realized it also needed mental strength to keep going and choose to take the next step when you think you are tired and cannot go any further. Choose to continue, even though there are problems, in this case physical hurt.
I was able to spend some time with a group of extremely experienced, smart and resilient people. I got to learn a lot of life lessons just by observing and interacting with them. It was an humbling experience to see that most of the group members was above 65 years and 2 of them were actually above 70 years and they rarely showed any tiredness. The resiliency they showed was so much inspiring.
To top it all, the walk was for a noble cause. This gave the satisfaction and contentment that I could also contribute, even though in a very small way.
In summary, physically challenging but mentally satisfying 😊. Thank you to the AIFT team and the entire group for this experience.
Ashakka says...
The walkathon for me is instrumental in learning many things by experiencing. The WOF 11 has made many of us stronger in facing the intolerable heat and odd circumstances. Due to efforts of the planning team, stay and other facilities were good. Though we have lost physical weight, it is added to our mental strength. Interaction with the beneficiaries has made us feel proud for being a part of AIFT. Wish many more people to get the benefit from AIFT for securing their right to life.
Comment from Rita...
My experience with WOF 11 was never to be forgotten. As I was new, I was wonder stuck with the whole process but within few days I understood the pattern and went with the flow.
Kamath couple and his team are a well-knit, humble and generous family. Their conviction towards the cause is amazing. It was a great learning experience for me.
Hope to be associated with such a dedicated team in the future also. 🙏
V R Shankar says...
The WOF 11 is yet another new experience with thrill and learning too. As we choose new places and terrain it gives lot of insight about the culture, people and beauty of the places too.
This walk also helped us to experience the culture, cuisine and hospitality of region. Very picturesque with ocean on one side and lush green on the other every now and then coming across rivers and canals with chirping of birds n call of peacock was mesmerizing.
Had few learning to carry from this walk.
Before walking date along with practice, one need to have good balanced nutritious food which can keep us strong.
Along with walking practice one should also do some muscle strengthening exercises which make long distance walk lot easier.
Also understand the terrain n the prevailing climate and plan accordingly.
Avoid long fasting, if there is walk within a week or two.
On the whole yet another great fun, experience and strengthening our belief that we are still young both body, mind and go on for few more walks to help the cause as well.
Thanks to Kamath our Guruji to keep encouraging us throughout, Prasad for helping us in planning and executing the entire trip, Anjali and Ashakka our Annaporne’s feeding us with varieties of items and all sponsors who supported this walk and made this yet another memorable one.
We had great friends always helping each other and our dear Chethan leading and being there always at all times and needs made this a successful one.
Thanks to you all and god bless💐💐

Raghu though feels it's time for retirement from walkthon, managed well and was pushing his friends and colleagues for donation . His commitment to support these kids is wonderful. He managed to get 2 t shirt for all of us from sponsor . He still worries that he was not able to provide right size of t shirt to shekar.
